Meet Our Staff
Dr. Dawn Morehead Education: Dr. Morehead graduated from the University Of Tennessee College Of Pharmacy in 1971, and then worked as a pharmacist for seven years. She went to UNC College of Dentistry and graduated in 1982 with Honors. She practiced dentistry in Raleigh for four years and then moved to Wake Forest. She has been in the dental profession for 29 years. She is a member of the Wake County Dental Society and the American Dental Association. She makes it a priority to continually update her dental knowledge through personal study and through dental seminars in Chicago, Cleveland, Florida, South Carolina, and locally here in North Carolina. She also maintains her yearly CPR Certification. She takes pride in the way the dental practice has evolved over the years. She believes patients must first understand their dental needs before they can make an informed decision about what they want to do.
Personal: Dr. Morehead has been Ballroom dancing for several years and has competed in Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, and Manhattan. She creates mosaics with shells, an art known as “Sailor’s Valentine.” She is an avid reader and is especially interested in the role of nutrition on health. She lifts weights, has a cat named Calvin and a canary named Blabby.
Tracey Brooks/ Practice Manager Education: Tracey graduated from Wake Technical College as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1991 and worked as an assistant for 6 years. She has worked with Dr. Morehead for 17 years, as the Practice Manager 15 years. She has attended Dental Seminars in Chicago, Cleveland, Florida, Charlotte and Raleigh. She has 15 years experience in filing dental claims with insurance companies.
Personal: Tracey was born and raised, on a family farm, right here in North Carolina. Tracey and her husband, Brandon, of 16 years have two boys, Carson and Jack. Carson is in the 6th grade and loves to play baseball, ride his 4-wheeler, hunt, fish and work on building projects. Jack is the typical 4yr old, in to everything. Tracey is very active in Children’s Ministry at her church; she is the Awana commander, organizes Children’s Summer Camps, Vacation Bible School and enjoys singing at church. She enjoys her family time camping at the beach, scrapbooking, gardening and working in her flowers.
Cynthia Stewart/Schedule Coordinator Education: Cynthia attended Vance-Granville College from 1984-1986 completing courses in secretarial science. She has 20 years of experience working in offices and is a crucial part of our dentalteam. She has been with Dr. Morehead for 8 years and handles all patient scheduling for Dr. Morehead.
Personal: Cynthia was raised in Henderson, NC and moved to the Wake Forest area 10 years ago. She enjoys spending time with her family, which also live here in Wake Forest. She loves swimming, exercising, reading and music.
Angela Harrison/ CDA Education: Angela is a graduate of Vance-Granville Community College and completed her Certified Dental Assisting Course at UNC School of Dentistry in 1996. She has worked with Dr. Morehead for 24 years. Angela received Continuing Education Training on the Cerec Crown Milling Unit “one appointment crown” in Atlanta, GA and she also receives yearly CPR Certification. She is a long standing, valued member of Dr. Morehead’s team.
Personal: Angela and her husband, Jeff Leonard, of 14 years enjoy attending Nascar Races. She has 2 dogs “Skinny Minnie and Sydney, who are spoiled rotten. Her yard is a bird sanctuary for all kinds of birds such as Gold Finches, Cardinals, Blue Birds, and Hummingbirds. She has 4 nieces, Dylan, Brittanie, Rachel and Rebekah who keep her busy and two great-nieces, Erika and Charis and one great nephew Braydon. She enjoys reading; her favorite authors are Stephen King and Anne Rice. Angela is a HUGE fan of Elvis Presley.
MaryAnn Green/ CDA Education: MaryAnn graduated from Wayne Community College in 1976 as a Certified Dental Assistant. She has 35 years of dental experience and 7 of those years she was an orthodontic assistant. MaryAnn received Continuing Education Training on the Cerec Crown Milling Unit “one appointment crown” in Atlanta, GA and she also receives yearly CPR Certification. MaryAnn is our Certified OSHA Coordinator. She has worked with Dr. Morehead for 15 years and is a valuable part of this dental team.
Personal: MaryAnn and her husband Glen, have a 17 year old daughter who is a Senior at Franklinton High School. She enjoys making crafts of all kinds, painting birdhouses, flower gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. MaryAnn enjoys traveling in the mountains and to the beach. She enjoys watching NASCAR races with her husband and is a HUGE fan of Bobby Labonte.
Debbie Dufty/RDH Education: Debbie Graduated from Keystone College and Broome Community College where she got her degree in Dental Hygiene. Over the last 36 years she has gained experience in Pediatric
Dentistry, Orthodontics and General Practice. Debbie has worked the last 15 years with Dr. Morehead after moving to Raleigh from Endicott, New York.
Personal: Debbie and her husband, Dave, have 3 children, all living in Chicago, IL. Their oldest daughter, Adriane and her husband, Rich, have just had their first daughter, Grace. Debbie and Dave are loving every chance they get to spend with her! Meghan is a National Sales Rep. with Work Wear Zone selling steel toe and slip resistant shoes. Alec is currently playing professional soccer in the M.L.S. for the Chicago Fire. Debbie enjoys traveling, especially to Chicago, and wherever the soccer matches are!
Dayna Artim/RDH Education: Dayna studied Chemistry and Education at North Carolina State University before entering into the dental field. She attended Wake Technical Community College and graduated Valedictorian of her Dental Hygiene Class in 2009. Dayna has worked for Dr. Morehead since 2010 and keeps up to date on new dental technologies through continuing education in Periodontal Maintenance, Pediatric Care and Preventive Care.
Personal: Dayna was raised in Fort Worth, TX and has been in North Carolina since 1999. She and her husband, Daniel moved into their first home here in Wake Forest. They have a Daschund named Toby who is their four-legged baby. Dayna is an avid traveler, volleyball player and enjoys baking, cooking, painting, and spending time with friends and family.
